Description
FOX45 in Baltimore has an opening for a sports reporter/anchor. We are looking for a tenacious reporter to really dig into both professional and amateur area sports teams with the expectation to break news on-air and on-line. The ideal candidate also understands the importance of how sports reporting is changing in the digital landscape and will bring new ideas to how FOX45 covers sports. A typical day might include hosting a podcast in the morning, shooting an interview for an upcoming report in the afternoon and then fronting a live shot from Camden Yards in the evening newscast. We want to hire a hungry, versatile, and digital reporting focused reporter that wants to immerse themselves into the Baltimore region sports teams.Requirements:
- Strong writing & video editing ability
- 2-5 years covering a high-level sports beat, both collegiate and professional
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related subject preferred
- Use social media to build a dedicated audience
- A demonstrated ability to separate from the pack and find original approaches to storytelling
- Develop original enterprise reporting across all Baltimore teams
Skills:
- Microsoft Office
- Adobe CC (Photoshop, Premiere)
- Photograph/Video editing (for broadcast and digital)
- High-level organizational skills
- Masterful headline writer
- Comfortable on-camera
The base salary compensation range for this role is $57,120 to $71,400. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
