WROC/RochesterFirst is hiring a Hybrid Content Creator/Production Director to join our award-winning team. WROC-TV/RochesterFirst.com in Rochester, New York is hiring a Hybrid Content Creator/Production Director who is responsible for researching, planning, and creating content for news programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and knowledge of AP style
- Creates engaging stories, videos, and imagery for our viewers specific to platforms
- Code and Direct daily live local newscasts and other live and prerecorded productions using Ross OverDrive and ENPS
- Stream live and prerecorded productions using OBS Studio
- Work closely with News Producers, Photographers, Engineers, and other Directors to enhance our final on-air product
- Work well in a collaborative team environment; multitasking, problem-solving, and making last-minute decisions under pressure and tight deadlines
- Be self-sufficient, managing multiple projects with competing priorities
- Perform other job-related requests and duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience is preferred
- Basic photography, videography and editing experience
- Experience in news operations and/or production is preferred
- Experience with cross-platform live streaming is preferred
- Ross OverDrive, ENPS, Adobe Premiere, and OBS experience a plus
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills; fluent in English, oral and written
- Available to work all shifts (mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays), as well as extended hours as assigned
Compensation: $17 - $18 an hour commensurate with applicant's experience and skill level.
