Company History
More Than 70 Years of Service and Innovation
The roots of 910 Media Group date back to January 1, 1954, when WWTV first signed on the air, becoming one of the pioneering television stations serving Northern Michigan. Over the decades, the organization expanded its reach and influence, growing alongside the communities it serves. WWUP-TV joined the operation in 1962, extending coverage into Michigan's Upper Peninsula, while Local 32 became part of the company in 2007, further strengthening its regional presence.
In 1986, Heritage Broadcasting Company of Michigan acquired the stations, ushering in a period of sustained growth, investment, and innovation. The company continued to evolve with the changing media landscape, expanding beyond traditional broadcasting into digital content, marketing services, publishing, and multimedia storytelling.
Significant milestones include the launch of new digital initiatives, the acquisition of Lake Effect Digital and MyNorth Media, and the company's transformation into 910 Media Group—a name that reflects a broader mission and a modern approach to serving audiences and advertisers across multiple platforms.
